Mitchell S. Hansen age 17 of Oshkosh, died at his home on Saturday, May 8, 2010 unexpectedly after a brief illness. He was born in Santa Clara, California on February 25, 1993 a son of Steven and Lisa Boerner Hansen.
Mitchell was a junior at Oshkosh North High School. He loved to be with his family, cousins and friends at school. Mitchell enjoyed listening to music, reading books, and dancing. He also loved the American flag and patriotic music, and could always be counted on to join in singing the National anthem. Mitchell's personality could fill a room like no other and his happiness was infectious. He loved to approach new people and welcome them with an exhuberant, "nice to meet you." No one experienced more joy than Mitchell when it was time to sing Happy Birthday, or as he liked to call it, "the Birthday Song." He could hardly wait to clap at the end. He was the true joy of his parent's and sisters life.
Survivors include his parents Steven and Lisa Hansen, Oshkosh; one sister, Ellyn Hansen, Oshkosh; grandparents, Donald and Virginia Hansen, Janesville; James and Phyllis Boerner, Sheboygan; aunts, Janelle (Jim) Goking, Sheboygan, Mary (John) Walch, Green Bay; Beth (Tim) Kluge, Janesville; Lynne (Bill) McQueen, Janesville; Susan Batenburg, Janesville; uncles, Jeff (Tammy) Hansen, Brookfield; Jim (Lisa) Boerner, Sheboygan; cousins, Molly, Jack, Chelsea, Kyriel, Andrew, Katherine, Craig, Lane, Lauren, Erica, Abby, Alex and Sarah.
Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. There will be a brief visitation on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 807 Superior Avenue in Sheboygan, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Autism Speaks, American Red Cross or for special education programs in schools which Mitchell attended.
