She was born in Omro on April 29, 1917 daughter of Edward and Grace LaBorde Wendt. On October 5, 1936 she married Kenneth Micka in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1994.
Marion was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oshkosh and belonged to the Miriam Circle. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Orienta lChapter #16 of the Order of Eastern Star. She had been employed by W.T. Grant and Schoenberger's Bakery. She had belonged to the Twentieth Century Club and had also been Docent at the Paine Art Center for many years which she enjoyed tremendously especially the groups of children that came through as she loved talking about history.
Marion is survived by her son, Selwyn (Pat) Micka; grandsons, Andrew Micka, and Matthew Micka (fiancée - Tracy) all of Oshkosh; step grandchildren, Joe Ader (fiancée - Courtney) of Oshkosh, Jess Ader (girlfriend - Hannah) of Milwaukee, and Kristi (Mark) Bruss of Oshkosh; step-great grandchildren, Kellen and Breelyn Bruss; cousins; and her cat, Molly.
Her funeral will be Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hobbins officiating. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Eastside on Tuesday from 5-7 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society or First United Methodist Church can be donated in her name.
