He married Nancy J. Steinbarth on August 2, 1986 at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.
Jim was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He served the Oshkosh community as a pharmacist for 53 years. Jim was a proud graduate of UW-Madison and enjoyed boating, traveling and hunting. He was a snow bird wintering in Fort Myers Beach, FL.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; son, Robert (Pam) Bartelt of Green Bay; daughter, Nancy (Pedro) Valdez of Oshkosh; step-son, Gregg Steinbarth of Washington, DC; step-daughter, Gail (Brian) Steinbarth of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Ronald Bartelt of Oshkosh and daughter, Debra (Mark) Baier of Oshkosh; brother, Donald Bartelt of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Greg Valdez, Tim (Kristi) Valdez, Carly Valdez, Brooke Bartelt, Brittany Bartelt, Nicole Baier, Kelly Baier, Gage Bartelt; step-grandson, Alexander Steinbarth; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Hailee and Aurora; and brother-in-law, Dick (Marilyn) Haberkorn of Oshkosh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and his wife, Gerald (Marian) Bartelt; sister and her husband, Jane (Merle) Schroeder; and sister-in-law, Carol Bartelt.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with the Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
