Christine M. Christensen, age 50, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at UW Health in Madison. She was born in Oshkosh, WI on May 24, 1972 to David and Patricia (Turnmeyer) Misterek. Christine was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Christensen on April 6, 2006 in Medina, WI.
Christine dedicated her career to help at risk children. She worked as a school counselor for Neenah High School since 2013. In addition, she also worked as the Neenah school district AODA (alcohol and other drug addiction) counselor, helping children fight alcohol and drug abuse. She started the Orbit at the high school which provides food and clothing to students in need. Christine was active with the school’s Runner’s High program where she enjoyed training students for completing the Green Bay Half Marathon each year.
Christine truly lived for her children and made sure she was there for every baseball, football, softball, volleyball game her children participated in. Family was extremely important to her, and she spent as much time as possible at the family cottage on Post Lake. This was her “happy place” where many memories were made with family and friends.
Christine is survived by her husband, Bob Christensen; son, Caleb Christensen; daughter, McKenzie Christensen; father, David (Chris) Misterek; mother, Patricia Misterek; sister, Jennifer (Mark) Seering; and brother, Michael (Laura) Misterek. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bernard and Marion Turnmeyer, and Gustave and Marie Misterek.
A private family service was held; however, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made for an education fund for her children.
