Douglas Arthur Lindemer

January 3, 1943 — February 19, 2006

Douglas A. Lindemer, 63, of Oshkosh, died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. He was the son of Lewis and Doris Lindemer. Douglas married Polly Schlaeger on February 8, 1963.He graduated from Omro High School in 1961 and was the Student Body President. He held four letters in track, three in football, two in basketball, and two letters in baseball.Douglas served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967 and in the Navel Reserves from 1967-1969.Douglas was the owner of Oshkosh Electric for many years until he found a passion for dog retriever training. He and Polly then bought land and started a new business, Final Flight Retriever Training. He became an expert in his profession and a national judge. Along with his passion for dogs, he was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors and the quiet life of the country. One of his favorite things to do was watch his hummingbirds come to the feeders. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing the land with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Polly, one son, Todd (Candace) of Madison, Ohio; two daughters, Tracy (special friend, Francine), Debbie (Martin) Stenson of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Christy, Anthony, Eric, Brett, Emily, Charlie, and Christopher, and one great grandson, Joseph. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one special nephew, Lawrence Kromm.A memorial visitation for Douglas will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside; from 11:00 until 1:00 pm. Douglas has many friends from around the country. They are welcome to bring their dogs to say goodbye to one of the best dog trainers in the country. A private family burial will take place after at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Dougs name. Doug will be dearly missed by his family, and many, many friends, and his dogs.
