Katherine M. Smith, of Oshkosh Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on February 4, 2023.
Katherine Smith (nee Meyer) was born on March 16, 1942, in Black River Falls to Philip and Aldena (Staffon) Meyer. She graduated from the school of nursing at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was united in marriage to Clyde Smith on February 13, 1965. Their marriage was an example of devotion and dedication to everyone who knew them.
Along with being a caring mother and wife, Katherine worked as a registered nurse, employed at Mercy Medical Center for 35 years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Katherine especially cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spoiling her grandchildren with love. She also was a skilled craftswoman making many gifts for family and friends by hand. Katherine was a dependable volunteer with the St. Vincent DePaul society in Oshkosh for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite places being Shipshewanna, IN.
Katherine is survived and will be missed by her loving husband, Clyde Smith; Sons: James (Aimee) Smith, Thomas (Kristin) Smith; Daughters: Diane (Dean) Kleveno, and Dena (Adam Albright) Smith. Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Chris), Cody , Mykaelah (Jacob), Colleen, and Wyatt. Sisters: Mary Goens, and Marlene Meyer; Brother, David (Luane) Meyer. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Aldena Meyer; Father and Mother-in-Law, Clyde and Irene Smith; niece, Betsy Bower; and sister-in-law, Wilma (John) Wyss.
A memorial service for Katherine will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
