Tammy Joan Ponzer, age 65, passed away at Froedtert Hospital surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born to the late Lloyd and Nancy (Yapp) Holland on February 16, 1958, in Oshkosh WI. She was married to Michael Ponzer on May 3rd, 1980. They were married for 43 years.
Tammy was a loving homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She had the biggest heart for animals of all kinds including birds, chinchillas, fish, and dogs. Her canine companions (Casey, Lucy & Sammy) were especially dear to her. Tammy was incredibly artistic and enjoyed working on various art projects, using her gift to make the world even more beautiful. Tammy had a knack for making those around her feel special and cared for. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, kindness, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her father and mother, husband, children, grandchildren (Oliver), entire family and countless friends.
Tammy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Mike; sons, Brian, and Andrew Ponzer; grandson, Oliver “Ollie” Ponzer; mother-in-law, Beverly Ponzer; sister, Tracy (Scott) Bantleon; brother-in-laws, Ron Ponzer, Doug (Kathie) Ponzer; nieces Nicole (Ryan) Bantleon-Pierce, Natalie Bantleon, Trisha Ponzer, Karon Meyer, Kris Ponzer, Sarah Kyei (John), and nephews Mike Ponzer, Daniel Ponzer.
A funeral service for Tammy will be held at Konrad-Behlman funeral homes, Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Friday, February 2, 2024, at noon. A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service. A burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the physician teams and support staff at both Ascension Oshkosh and Froedtert Specialty Physicians & Hospital Milwaukee. They also would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Valadres De Sousa of the Froedtert Town Hall Health Center Menomonee Falls who went above and beyond to advocate for Tammy’s care over the past few years. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time.
