Adelyne E. Schultz, 85, Oshkosh was welcomed home by her heavenly Father on Thursday, March 15th 2007 at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh. She was born February 21st 1922 in Eureka, Wisconsin, daughter of Reinhardt and Ann (Klick) Merkey. A graduate of Berlin High School, she represented the city in the Miss Wisconsin pageant in 1940, as Miss Berlin. On July 10th 1948, she married Howard A. Schultz. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage together and are once again joined as eternal sole mates. Adelyne worked for a number of years in the family business, City Recreation Lanes, Wautoma, WI. Upon moving to Oshkosh, she was employed in the service industry as a waitress for Hessers and the Holiday Inn restaurants. The later years found her remaining active, working part time at K-Mart. Adelyne was an accomplished bowler and golfer in the local area taking home many trophies over the years. She enjoyed cross stitching, feeding wild birds, her Packers and the company of many friends made at the Pearl Lake Campground, Redgranite, WI. Adelyne and Howard were active members of the Oshkosh Elks Club where they reveled in the activities and companionship of fellow members.She is survived by son, Donald (Cynthia Long) Schultz, Appleton; daughter, Jody (Ted) Livingston, Little Chute; son, Bradley (Liz) Schultz, Oshkosh; sister, Dorothy (Tony) Castonia, Crivitz; brother-in-law, Lyle (Lyla) Schultz, Wautoma; sisters-in-law, Beulah Stecker, Davenport, IA; and Jackie Schultz, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ryan Schultz, Hortonville; Ria (Tony) Fletcher, New London; Cory Schultz, Oshkosh; Jeffrey Long, New London; great grandchildren, Sage and Skyler Schultz, Hortonville; Logan and Morgan Fletcher, New London; along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her brother, Donald Merkey, and brother-in-laws Boyd Schultz and Bob Stecker.Funeral services will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Jeff Knoll officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to the time of service on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.The Schultz family would like to extend their thanks and heart felt gratitude to the entire Park View Health Center Staff and the Aurora Dialysis Center for the loving and gentle care provided to Adelyne.
