Agnes Regina Burnett

January 30, 1915 — September 17, 2009

Agnes R. Burnett, age 94, of Oshkosh, went to her eternal home September 18th, 2009 at Bethel Home. She was born January 30, 1915, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Ries) Ruedinger. She married Eldon Burnett on October 19th, 1940 at St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death December 28, 1998.Agnes worked as a waitress at Harrys Restaurant where she met and married the cook, Eldon Burnett. She was a faithful wife and mother. She encouraged and helped Eldon pursue a career as a Steam Fitter. She also worked side by side with Eldon remodeling old houses and then selling or renting them out. She helped many family members during her lifetime through difficult times.Agnes is survived by two sons: George (Mary) of Fond du Lac, and DuWayne (Shirley) of Oshkosh; and two daughters, Patricia (James) Ostertag, and Mary (George) Meisel of Oshkosh and preceded in death by one daughter Gail Nelson. She is further survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn Brennend, Margaret Neubauer, Mary Kolosso; brothers, Bernard, Lawrence, Otto, Andrew, Alois, John, Edmund, and Norbert.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude the Apostle (St. Vincent site, 216 W South Park Ave, Oshkosh) at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bill Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
