Alegra A. LaPoint, age 77, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Sunday, February 17, 2019 due to complications of heart failure and COPD. She was born to the late Horace and Dorothy (Marohl) Soper on January 10, 1942 in Milwaukee. She married Roger LaPoint on April 7, 1962 at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Alegra was the owner at Toni’s Lettering Service. She was a talented artist and was very crafty. She owned her own kiln and would make ceramics, some of which she was able to sell. She also enjoyed painting and sewing; doing puzzles, collecting stamps, and reading. She also loved bowling and golfing and was proud of her hole in one on the 12th hole at Utica golf club.
Alegra is survived by the love of her life, Roger; son, Douglas (Pascale) LaPoint; daughter, Danielle Weber; and granddaughter, Julie Weber.
In addition to her parents, Alegra was preceded in death by her brothers, Elwood and Milo (Jean) Soper.
A service for Alegra will be held at First English Lutheran Church (1013 Minnesota St) on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12pm. Rev. Tim Greenwald will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. The burial will take place at Ellenwood Cemetery 2080 S.Washburn in Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to First English Lutheran Church 1013 Minnesota St. Oshkosh WI. 54902.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Pastor Tim and the nurses at Mercy hospital during her time of need. We especially want to acknowledge our wonderful neighbors through the years for their tremendous support.
