Alice Margaret Duren

Alice M. Duren, 88, of Oshkosh, died at Evergreen Retirement Community on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born on December 27, 1923 in Cazenovia, WI the daughter of Leo and Hazel Drea Duren.Alice was a teacher for 46 years the last 33 years at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. She received her masters degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parrish, St Peters Catholic Church. Alice had a special love for her students and wrote poetry for many of her friends. She enjoyed traveling and had been to over 30 countries, she also enjoyed collecting cookbooks, bells, vegetable and flower gardening and especially liked roses. Alices toy poodles were the loves of her life. Survivors include her nieces, Meg (Dean) Cornell of Kingston IL; Mary (Jim) Harris of Altoona, WI; nephew, David (Karen) Duren of West Bend, WI; many cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding Alice in death were her parents; brother, Robert Duren; sister, Hazel Ann Duren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St Peters Catholic Church (435 High Ave) with the Rev James Jugenheimer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Monday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
