Allen Carlton Bahr

Allen C. Bahr, 86, of Oshkosh, died Friday October 19, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center when his Lord took him home ending his courageous fight with cancer. He was born on September 11, 1926 in Oshkosh the son of Harry and Margaret Olsen Bahr. He married Beverly Kaspar on July 5, 1947 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church where he was a former Vice President of the congregation, and a long time member of the Mens Club. He was a loving husband of 65 years, a true family man and loved his grandchildren dearly. He retired from Oshkosh Truck after 46 years and was one of the original founders of the Oshkosh Truck Credit Union. He enjoyed fishing, and golfing. He is survived by his wife Beverly, two sons Gary(Lynette) Bahr, Steven(Kim) Bahr, all of Oshkosh, four grandchildren Matthew(Lanay) Bahr of Newport News, VA., Christopher(Kelsey) Bahr, Bryan(Jessica) Bahr, Kristy(Jerry Kope) Bahr, all of Oshkosh, four great-grandchildren Kyla, Anna, Jenna, Leia, a sister-in-law Lois Kaspar, a brother-in-law Louis Hentz, nieces, nephews, special friends Lee(Sharon) Werner, Karen Paulos, and many other friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Audrey Hentz, and a brother-in-law Milton KasparFuneral services for Allen will be held on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church(913 Nebraska St.) with Rev. Jeffrey Duquaine and Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be performed.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.The Bahr family would like to thank Dr. Tannan, Dr. Foley, Dr. Klinkhammer and the nursing staff at Mercy Medical Center.
