Allen E. Henslin, age 87 of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was born in Princeton on September 4, 1935 to the late Emil and Elsie (Kuhnert) Henslin. Allen was united in marriage on June 13, 1964 to Carolyn Bauer and had four children.
Allen worked at Neenah Foundry for 33 years before retiring. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he later worked as a janitor. Allen was an avid runner who accomplished running in seven different marathons. He bowled for 75 years, he enjoyed following the Packers, Brewers and Badgers, and going hunting.
Allen is survived by his children, Darcy (Daryl) Duchatschek, Bradley (Bridgette Burmeister) Henslin, Brian (Elizabeth) Henslin and Shawn (Angie) Henslin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Richard) Mortimer, Amanda Duchatschek, Lucas (Julia), Noah, Mason, Blake, Alexya, Ava, Alana and Abram Henslin; great grandchildren: Felicity, Feival and Charlie. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Henslin; brothers, Leonard (Doris) and Robert (Evelyn) Henslin; sister: Venetta (Leonard) Jeske; great grandchild: Ankhesenamun.
A memorial service for Allen will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario St. with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
The Henslin family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Home, especially Shundra “Mumma”, for making Allen feel right at home during his time there. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
