It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Hanford, age 66, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh on Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born in Oshkosh on October 23, 1957, to the late Claude and Alma (Krebs) Hanford. Allen was united in marriage to Linda Sosinski on May 21, 1994, in Oshkosh at St. John’s Lutheran.
Allen lived a vibrant life filled with passion for bowling (T& O Out Boarders, The Roxy, and Mixed Animals) and softball leagues (Barb’s Blue Room and Terry’s), where his competitive spirit shone brightly. He was known for his vibrant personality, always engaging in conversation and forming connections with everyone he met. Allen's blue Trans Am, lovingly referred to as George, was a symbol of his free spirit and love for the open road. He worked at the Hoffmaster Group for 43 years until his retirement.
Allen had a special affinity for the majestic eagle, a reflection of his own soaring spirit and adventurous nature. As a father to two daughters, he had a deep and unconditional love for his family, embodying the qualities of a great dad with every moment spent together.
Allen is survived by his wife, Linda Hanford; daughters: Samantha and Taylor Hanford; grandchildren: Cheyanne, Ireland, and Presley; and sister, Cheryl Hanford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alma Hanford; brother, Kenneth Hanford; parents-in-law: Gerald and Lois Sosinski; and sister-in-law, Mary Sosinski.
