Alpha Mauk

October 22, 1919 — July 8, 2007

Alpha Mauk, age 87 went to heaven peacefully with his children at his side on July 8, 2007. Dad was the eldest son of Alma and Benjamin Mauk of Elton, WI. After an honorable discharge as a sergeant in the United States Army and serving in WWII, dad moved to Oshkosh, where he met Sylvia Bernhard. They were married on June 10, 1949 and mom preceded dad in death in 1987, as well as one daughter Valerie.Dad was a wonderful father and grandfather. His family was his priority and after that he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a long time member of the Van Dyne Sportsmens Club, where he won many trophies. Dad retired from North American Rockwell, Axle Division.Dad is survived by his six children, Pam (Larry) Streblow, Randy Mauk, Jeff Mauk, Sandy (Gordy) Daun, Keith (Laurie) Mauk, Angel (Scott) Solomon and his twelve grandchildren, Amanda (Marc), Adam (Jaclyn), Justin (Becky), Andrea, Tyler, Tarah, Cody, Sasha, Desiree, Hailey, Chase and Jacob; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Sam (Roni) Mauk; Benny (Mary) Mauk; five sisters, Sherry Verberg; LaVonne (Leonard) Schmidt; June (Martin) Schmidt; Lorraine (Eric) Safford; and Laurie (Jerry) McGee. Preceding him in death was a brother, Glenford Mauk, and sister Juanita Swim. He loved his, nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and one special friend Mary Dehart, and will be sadly missed by all.The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at park View Health Center.Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside (corner of Witzel Ave. & Lake Pointe Dr.) on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM with Rev. Donavon Adamson officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors, immediately following the service.Dad we will miss your warm smile, your laughter, your singing and most of all your warm loving hugs and words of love. You will forever be in our heats. We were truly blessed to have a Dad and a friend like you.
