Althea Joyce Meyer

Althea J. Meyer, 79, of Oshkosh died Friday July 22, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born November 3, 1931 in Hortonville, WI a daughter of the late Alvin Kuhn and Joyce Kuhn Eich. Althea married Merton Meyer on September 15, 1961 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1988. Althea was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, a Crossing Guard in Oshkosh for many years, and enjoyed playing sheephead. She is survived by a son Richard (Corinne) Meyer of Neenah; two step-sons Wayne (Gail) Meyer of Oshkosh and Stanley Meyer of Oshkosh; a grandson Quintin Meyer; a brother Marvin Gehring; two sisters Rosie Dake and Lorraine Struck; and special friend Kenny Neubauer. She was preceded in death by a sister Clarice Fobes, a step-son Jeff Meyer, and two step-daughters Beverly Becker and Marlene Smithson. Funeral services for Althea will be held Friday July 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Intern Brad Dokken officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday July 28, 2011 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 4-7 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established to the Oshkosh Senior Center and Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
