Anita May Nimmer

Anita May Nimmer, 88, Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Arbor View Manor, Oshkosh. She was born March 7, 1927, in Oshkosh, daughter of Frank and Amalia Wagner. Anita received her education in Oshkosh Schools. She worked for Victory Lite Candle Company and Dr. Richardson. Anita lived for a while in California and Alaska.Anita married Earl Nimmer at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Oshkosh, on June 22, 1963, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2005. Anita and Earl loved to bowl in leagues at the Van Dyne Bowling Alley, where she was on Wendts Bowling Team. She was a member of a Red Hatters group, The Oshposh Red Peppers. She enjoyed going to lunch with the girls, her former co-workers. She loved singing, and was a choir member at St. Johns Church for many years. Anita was also a member of a special singing group at church, the Agape Singers. She also sang solos at several weddings. Anita loved spending time with her family. Watching sports on TV was her favorite pastime.Anita is survived by her sister, Myrtle Kumbier Angle of Omro, and her brother, William Wagner of Shell Lake; nieces: Barbara Coe, Pickett; Mary (Dennis) Clauss, Appleton; Patty (Rod) Fisk, Neenah; Louise (Don) Cerney, Escondido, CA; and Ellie (Bud) Winter, Woodstock, IL; nephews: Larry (Sally) Kumbier, Garland, TX, and David Wagner, Green Bay; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law: Jeanette (Ronald) Leeman and Lorraine (Gordon) Kargus; and three brothers-in-law: Robert, Carlton, and Harry Jr. (Gladys) Nimmer.In addition to her husband Anita was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank; sister, Lenora; nephews: Leonard Kumbier and James Wagner.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church, 808 N. Main Street, Oshkosh, with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church. Anitas family would like to give special thanks to Tim and the entire staff at Arbor View Manor for the compassionate care they gave Anita.
