Anna M. Winkenwerder, 91, of Oshkosh passed Saturday, June 14, 2014, three days short of her 92nd birthday, at The Sterling House. She was born in Oshkosh on June 17, 1922 a daughter of Frank and Nettie Haulotte Smith. On March 17, 1944 she married Arden Winkenwerder in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2000.Anna and her husband farmed in the town of Vinland for 30 years and she worked at the Winnebago County Extension office also for 30 years. She was a member of Winnebago County Extension Homemakers for over 50 years. She was a member of Allenville Baptist Church from 1934 until retiring to Florida with her husband where she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, FL. In 2005 Anna returned to Oshkosh and joined First English Lutheran Church where she remained a member. She enjoyed playing cards and playing both the piano and organ.She is survived by her children, Karen (Daniel) McDowell of Scandinavia, WI, Lois (Donald) Jaenke of Oshkosh, and Reed (Mary Jo) Winkenwerder of Winneconne; 15 grandchildren, Dawn (Dan) Grossbier, David (Kori) Printz, Kristin (Scott) Boevers, Lisa (Scott) DeGroot, Lori (Mike) Van Gompel, Stephanie (Mack) Cooper, Kevin (Heather) Winkenwerder, Ryan Michael, Amanda Micheal, Gregory (Pam) Jaenke, Stephanie (Mark) Ziebell, David (Peg) McDowell, Suzanne (Kerry) Romsa, Patricia (Kris) Sjogren, Valerie McDowell (Pierce OShaunghessy); 15 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rachel Moore; and 8 nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Arden, her parents, her in-laws Earl and Helen Winkenwerder; brothers, Leslie Smith and William Smith; sisters-in-law Frances Kissinger, Marian Smith, Margaret Peggy Smith; and brothers-in-law Donald Moore and Gilbert Kissinger.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Private family burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Annas name.The family would like to thank the staff at Sterling House and Heartland Hospice and Annas special friend Orville for all the compassion and care they showed to Anna.
