Anthony “Tony” E. Skupas, age 85 of Manitowish Waters, passed away on February 6, 2025 at Heartland House, Wautoma. He was born on January 4, 1940 in Green Bay, WI, son of Edward and Norma (Goudy) Skupas. On April 29, 1961, he married Judith M. Sharratt in Fond du Lac, WI.
Tony was a 1958 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, WI. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1959 to June 1962. He worked in the engineering department at Mercury Marine. He then went into sales at Metropolitan Life, was the Midwest regional sales manager for Lear Siegler Bearing Co. and B.F.M. Bearing Co. Tony later established his own mortgage company, Central Valley Mortgage LLC, which he operated until his retirement in 2002.
Tony was an avid sportsman whose passions included fishing, hunting, trapping. He poured his heart into making maple syrup, enjoyed countless rounds of golf, and found immense joy in attending his granddaughters' sports activities. Tony enjoyed helping his son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Shelly, at their convenience store in Wautoma. He also loved to spend as much time as possible at his cottage in Manitowish Waters, WI, and in Florida.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark Skupas of Rosendale, WI, Bradley (Michelle “Shelly” Skupas of Wautoma, WI; granddaughters, Kelsi Skupas of Sun Prairie, WI and Kaelyn (Brett) Pagel of Neenah, WI; seven great grandchildren; brother, Brian (Kathy) Skupas of Fond du Lac, WI. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his loving wife and friend of 51 years, Judie Skupas, and his brother, Bobby Jo Skupas.
A funeral service for Tony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Rogersville Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Lung Cancer Research Center, 600 Highland Ave. Madison, WI 53792 in Judith M. Skupas’s name.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Heartland House for the compassionate care provided to Tony during his time there.
