Arlene Hildegarde Steinert, 92, of Oshkosh, died on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Oakwood Manor. Arlene was born in Bear Creek, WI on April 6, 1919 a daughter of the late Adolph and Lydia (Springer) Schroeder. On April 19, 1941 she married Harry Steinert in Oshkosh. He preceded Arlene in death on August 5, 1976.Arlene was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, the Grace Circle and the Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary. She had volunteered 25,000 hours, loved crafts and enjoyed her Reading Buddies group.Survivors include her son, Scott (Rose) Steinert of Menomonee Falls; her daughters, Peggy (Greg) Wendt of Neenah, Susan (Louis) Captain of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Andy (Tina) Captain of Hartford, Tony (Amy) Captain of Oshkosh, Kelly (Gary) Freiberg of Oshkosh, Steve Captain of Appleton; grand dog, Teddy; great grandchildren, Taylor, Sami, Spencer and Sofie Captain; her sisters-in-law, Arlene Huserman of Hemet, CA and Joyce Steinert of Oshkosh and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Howard and Norman Schroeder and two sisters, Bernice Klitzke and Verna Drexler.Funeral Services for Arlene will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church (913 Nebraska St - Oshkosh) with the Rev. Jeffrey Duquaine officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 p.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A Memorial to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church has been established
