Arlene Lois Lewis, 65, of Oshkosh died Monday, December 26, 2005 after a courageous 2½ year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends when her Lord and Savior welcomed her home.Arlene was born June 20, 1940 in Oshkosh to Ralph and Elsie Dorman. She was employed by Miller Electric Manufacturing Company in Appleton for 42 years until the time of her retirement. She was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, having served as a Sunday school teacher. She owned and enjoyed horses for much of her life and shared that love with her family. She was a regular in attendance at the Manawa Midwestern Rodeo weekend each July. She cherished the time she had with her faithful companion, her dog Bodacious, who also passed away this year. Her first and foremost love, however, always remained her family.She is survived by a son Todd (Tasha) Lewis, Eau Claire; two daughters Michelle Lewis and Kim (Michael) Holmes, both of Oshkosh; her childrens father Dean Lewis, Oshkosh; grandchildren Dalton and Avery Holmes, Oshkosh. She is also survived by step-children Michael (Lei Ann) Lewis and Georgann (Thomas) Andrejeski, all of Kaukauna; step-grandchildren Amanda (Brett) Curtis, and daughter Claudia, Vernon, WI, Melinda Wydeven and son Lucas, Green Bay, Maria (John) Duemler, Macon, GA, and Bret Lewis, Kaukauna. She is further survived by two sisters Harriet Reichenberger and Charlotte (Clarence) Eichstadt; brother-in-law Lawrence Papenfuss; sister-in-law Sue Dorman and godmother Lorraine Womaski, all of Oshkosh; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Shirley Papenfuss; brother Ken Dorman; as well as an infant daughter.Funeral service for Arlene will be held, Friday, December 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church (222 Church Ave. Oshkosh) with Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside and again on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at church. A memorial has been established.We would like to thank Dr. Karen Gremminger, Monica, Karen, Rosemary, and Wendi and the entire staff at the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Care Center at Mercy Medical Center-Oakwood, Oshkosh, for their compassionate care of our mom throughout her treatment; to Mercy first floor nursing staff, who always brought a smile to her face during her many stays there, and to Affinity Home Hospice Care for all they did to ensure her last days were lived comfortably at home.
