Arlene Mary Ann Diehl

Arlene Mary Ann Diehl, age 90, went to heaven and was reunited with the love of her life, Don 29 days later. “A true love story.” She was born on February 5, 1931, in Oshkosh a daughter of David and Mollie Reehl Hartman. Arlene married Don Diehl (the boy next door) on August 12, 1950 and shared a loving life for 71 years. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2021.
Arlene was employed at Wisconsin Bell and waitressed at several restaurants. She loved to read and kept notebooks filled with her favorite books and authors. Arlene enjoyed crocheting and made afghans for all of her children and grandchildren, and they were all “made with love.” She was an avid Packer fan and would wear her favorite Packer shirt while watching each game. She loved to watch game shows and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Arlene’s family and friends were her life, and she opened her arms and heart to everyone she met. We all know she is dancing again with her soulmate “Don” in heaven.

She is survived by two daughters Kathy (Steve) Miller, Sheila Koehn, one son Dan Diehl, her grandchildren Kalie (Puck) Skifstad, Heather (Andy) Garrett, Heidi Tlatelpa, Justin (Kristen) Cox, Derek Diehl, Kayla (Mike) Ross, Stephanie (Kenny) McGuire, Jamie (Troy) Weir, Kelly (Brett) Tovar, Mike (Alexis) Miller; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Laurie McEssey, her parents, and one sister, Dorothy Oelerich.
Funeral services for Arlene will be held on Monday December 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
