Arlene V. Mueller, age 90, passed away on May 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born to the late Howard Robinson and Frances Frohrib on September 18th, 1933 in Oshkosh WI.
A businesswoman who owned and operated Aurora Kennel and Pet Shoppe. Arlene built the business in 1968 and 20 years later built a large expansion that was necessary for her extraordinarily successful business. Special recognition to the long time and devoted employees Connie Schauer, Julia Richards and Caitlin Paulick who continue to maintain the excellence of Aurora Kennel and Pet Shoppe. They were more than employees to Arlene; Connie, Julia and Caitlin were her cherished and trusted friends.
Arlene’s compassion and love of all animals, lead her to the Oshkosh Animal Shelter in the late 1960’s. Here she implemented and elevated the care and conditions for the animals, employees, and volunteers. Ultimately crusading and was an integral part of designing a new facility for the Oshkosh Humane Society.
Arlene bred and showed numerous Champion Poodles, toys, and miniatures, along with her daughter Julie. Aurora Poodles were shown in Canada by Elaine Whitney, and across the United States by her daughter Julie, with great recognition. Most notably “Chrissy” shown to her championship and handled by Eugene Blake, in 1979, at Westminster Kennel Club in New York City.
Arlene graduated from Oshkosh High School. She sang in the Girls’ choir, grade school through high school. She also performed in Oshkosh Girls Drum and Bugle Corp. starting junior high school through high school.
Arlene is survived by her two children, Randy S. Mueller of Lake Geneva, WI, and Julie L. Mueller of Tulsa, OK. Her grandson Richard A. Mueller, great grandson Ryan A. Mueller and goddaughter Jordan E. Patri.
Per Arlene’s wishes a cremation has taken place.
