Arlyss Joy Luft

Arlyss Joy Luft, 78 of Oshkosh, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital on Monday, November 20, 2023. Arlyss was born in New London on May 12, 1945 to the late Norman and Neva (Schmidt) Hoeft. Arlyss was united in marriage to Norman Luft on May 6, 1967 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

Arlyss was a member of the United Church of Christ. She worked as a medical assistant at numerous health care clinics in the area throughout her career. Arlyss was an avid Brewers fan. She enjoyed dancing and singing, especially in the church choir and Golden Tones chorus group. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed sewing clothes for herself as well as her children when they were young, sending heartfelt thank-you notes, and gardening.

Arlyss is survived by her husband Norman Luft; sons, Tim (Diane) Luft and Tom Luft; grandchildren, Allison, Rob (Alissa), Chris (Biz); brother, Lowell Hoeft; aunt, Margaret Schrank; nephew, Brian Keene; sister-in-law, Dolores Keene.

Arlyss was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service for Arlyss will be held in Oshkosh at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Andi Wolf. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. A meal will be provided after the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
