Arturo Jara, age 56, tragically passed away July 12, 2018. He was born to the late Augustine Guzman and Zenorina Jara in a little town called Santa Maria del Oro in Nayarit, Mexico. Prior to moving to Oshkosh, Arturo was a long shore fisherman based out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He moved to Oshkosh in 1999 and worked at Avery Dennison as a material handler for 17 years. Arturo was an extremely hard working person and made many friends there as well as earned their respect.
Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his boys. His absolute happiest moments were spent on a beach in Mexico with family drinking a cold beer, eating raw oysters and whole fried fish.
If heaven is what we want it to be then that is where he is now.
Arturo is survived by his two sons, Aidan and Noah, as well as his ten siblings in Reno, Nevada and Mexico. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews in Oshkosh, as well as Mexico and Reno.
He will also be greatly missed by his good friend Russ. We’re grateful he had a friend like you.
A service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 28 at Konrad-Behlman Eastside (402 Waugoo Ave; due to construction, take Merritt Ave or Ceape Ave to Broad St and enter our parking lot through Broad). A visitation will be held from 1PM until the time of service.
To all friends, families, and coworkers, come join us in saying goodbye and let us share some of Arturo’s life with you.
In lieu of flowers, and if you wish, you can make a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his memory, a cause that he was very passionate about
