Arvilla Ilean Andresen

Arvilla Vi I. Andresen, 82, of Oshkosh died Thursday April 1, 2010 at Evergreen Retirement Community-Creekview. She was born October 18, 1927 in rural Waupaca County a daughter of Elmer and Irma Dorow Prellwitz. Vi married LeRoy Andy Andresen on June 18, 1949 in Oshkosh. Vi was a member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church. She held positions of increasing responsibility at the state of Wisconsin Job Service, ending her career of 39 years as the unemployment manager for the Oshkosh area. Vi enjoyed laughing and playing hostess to her family and friends; vacationing at their cottage in Three Lakes and in the winter months being a Florida snow bird. Vi loved collecting sea shells, bird watching, discovering wildflowers, needlepoint, traveling in the states and abroad, and was a passionate gardener. Most importantly, Vi was a thoughtful friend and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Andy of Oshkosh; a daughter Patti (Steve) Andresen-Shew of Oshkosh; a grandson Alex Shew of Oshkosh; two sisters Nancy (Roger) Wolf of Oshkosh and Darlene Lyness of Fond du Lac; and two sisters-in-law Trudy Prellwitz of Tacoma, WA and Lorraine (Robert) Stenerson of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Lester and LeRoy Prellwitz. A funeral service for Vi will be held (today) Saturday April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Visitation will be held today at the church from 9 a.m. until the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established in memory of Vi.
