Babette Daniella Veres

September 6, 1947 — February 13, 2016

Babette D. Veres, 68, of Racine, WI, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2016. She was born on September 6, 1947, daughter of the late Daniel and Babette Andersen Brey. She married Kenneth Veres on February 14, 1969 in Milwaukee, WI.Babette was a hunter, hiker, photographer, medical assistant and homemaker. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a selfless woman who always made the best of any situation. She laughed from the heart and made all days brighter with her smile and laughter. She always had her camera at her side. She had a profound love for the great outdoors, often capturing the beauty of nature with her award winning photographs. Moms other love was up at the cabin and farm house. All three of us girls were blessed to share a carefree life with her walking through her woods. The smiles and laughs we all shared. She loved the nature and was at peace there; she hiked there, hunted there, taught our father how to shoot a bow there. This was a true gift she shared with many family members. Thanks to her, all lives who touched her were changed forever in the best way possible. We are who we are because of her love. Mom also loved to bake. She was an award winning baker. She won awards for her Irish Soda bread, beating out old Irish women and scored a beautiful Waterford Crystal vase. After that she won a baking contest with Land O Lakes and received an all-expenses paid trip to California. Mom wanted her life to be celebrated by all. She was happy and wanted joy and laughter to celebrate her life. She loved flashy bright colors, the beach, butterflies, humming birds, flamingos, and zebras. She had a silly wit about her; those close to her saw this on a regular basis. Always the optimist dreaming of better days and perseverance for herself and all of those around her. Babette is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Heather (Duston Holton) Lorbeck, Holly (Rudy Coleman)Veres and Becky (Donny) Burke; grandchildren, Danielle and Blaise Lorbeck, Brittany and Brooke Fravel, Summer, Bella, Lacey, Boone and Sawyer Burke; great-grandchild, Oliver Bolton; brother Kurt (Debbie) Brey; sister, Karen (Larry) Felle; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Admiral.Babette was preceded in death by her parents.A memorial service for Babette will be at noon on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Marys site (605 Merritt St. Oshkosh, WI.)
