Barbara Ann Kuettner

Barbara Ann Kuettner, age 73, formerly of Oshkosh, left this earth for heaven on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. She had been at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton fighting the fight against a weakening heart and lungs.Barb was born in Milwaukee on September 7, 1941, to James and Ardis Mooney. After graduation from Washington High, where she was senior valedictorian, she then worked for her dad and uncle at the once well-known Fruit Ranch.She met Reg Kuettner in Oshkosh in 1966 and after discovering they were kindred spirits, they were joined in matrimony. Barb was primarily a home-maker at heart, nurturing an atmosphere of loving warmth for her family, and being an outstanding cook, providing the family with an untold number of delicious meals. In 2004, after their three children had their own children, Barb and Reg left Oshkosh and moved to their dream home in the wooded peaceful surroundings outside Hortonville. One enjoyable effort there was keeping the many birds, deer, chipmunks and even squirrels very well fed.Barb is survived and will be immensely missed by her hubby; three loving children: Matt (Cindy) Kuettner and Mark Kuettner of Oshkosh and Wendy (Jay) Schumerth of Appleton; and five terrific grandchildren: Noah and Annika Schumerth and Thomas, Austin and Kaytlin Kuettner.Barb was preceded in death by her father, mother and a brother Thomas Mooney.A memorial service for Barb will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Lake View Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Prewitt officiating. Visitation will be held at Lake View in the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Hortonville Library.
