Barbara Ann Meton

Barbara A. Meton, age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Elmer and Lydia (Kubichek) Billington on September 26, 1936, in Racine, WI. She married Harold Meton on February 25, 1956; together they had 6 children. Barb and Harold were both members at Calvary Lutheran Church. Barb was an avid member of the Silver Sneakers group, and greatly missed seeing her friends when she could no longer go. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, meeting her group of lady friends for a monthly lunch date, and being a mother.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Kim (Roger) Giffey, Connie (Jimmy Ruby) Shaefer, Lisa (Jeff) Houge, Mark (Patty)Meton, Dawn Meton, and Gail (Mark) Schaefers; brother, Ronald Billington; 15 grandchildren, Ryan Giffey (DeeAnn Drexler), Kurt (Abi) Giffey, Hilary (Christopher) Gelhar, Rachel Shaefer, Jason (Andrea) Houge, Kristen (Tim Knuth) Houge, Scott (Amanda) Houge, Samantha Houge, Tyler (Kayla) Anklam, Lisa Anklam, Michael Meton, Ashley (Dave) Rhyner, Bradley Potratz, Emily (Brett Aston) Schaefers, Benjamin Schaefers; and many great-grandchildren. Barbara is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Billington, who she missed dearly.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11AM. A visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
A special thanks for the wonderful care from the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, especially Dr. Zahid Dar and the nursing staff, especially Karin and Beau as well as a Thank you to caregiver Joni Kerwin and a special thank you to Aurora Hospice caregivers Mary, Dana, and Tammy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society and St Jude’s Children’s hospital.
