Benjamin J. Ponzer, age 29, formerly of Oshkosh, died as the result of an automobile accident in Clay County, Alabama. He was born in Oshkosh the son of James Ponzer and Janice Johnson Ponzer.
He graduated Oshkosh North High School in 2008, and then served in the United States Army. He was currently working for the State of Alabama Parks department. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, kayaking, and being outdoors. He loved raising animals especially pigeons and geese and he loved his Dog. Ben was a free spirit and traveled to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and to Asia to see the tigers.
He is survived by his parents, James Ponzer, Janice Ponzer, three sisters Nichole Ponzer, Sara Ponzer(Stanley Waters), Stephanie Ponzer, his nephew Dominick Ponzer, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Dorothy and Henry Johnson, and his paternal grandparents Myron and Jeanette Ponzer.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday June 24, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with military honors to be held at the conclusion of the visitation.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
