Bernard F. Pokorny 81, of Oshkosh, born on May 4, 1927 in Green Bay, WI passed on November 28, 2008 at Aurora Medical Center with his wife and family by his side. He was a resident of Bethel Home for the last 1 years. He made many friends while there. He enjoyed going to chapel. Ben enjoyed watching old Westerns and game shows. Scratch off tickets were always a treat. Ben served in the US Navy in World War II. Upon his return, he was a cement finisher for twenty-five years in the Green Bay area.He is survived by his wife Shirley, Oshkosh; three step-sons, Bob Fugelberg, Osceola, WI; Ken Fugelberg, Palm Springs, CA; Mike Hansen, Wild Rose; one brother, John Pokorny, Brookfield, IL; one sister Mildred Smith, Green Bay; 4 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd.) on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 1:30 PM with Chaplin David Runbold of Bethel Home officiating. Family and friends may call at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel on Monday from 12:30 PM to the time of service. After the service, military honors will be held, followed by entombment. A memorial has been established.We would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Bethel Home and Aurora Medical Center. He will be sadly missed by all.
