Betty J. Matulle

Betty Jane Matulle, age 83, of Oshkosh passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on December 29, 1934 to the late Aldor and Ena (Henke) Hinz in the Town of Eldorado. Betty married Melvin “Mel” Matulle on July 11, 1955 in Oshkosh, and their marriage was blessed with three sons.
Betty was fortunate to be a homemaker while her children were growing up. She later worked at SNC Manufacturing for 10 years. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Nekimi. Betty was a proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She liked cooking, eating ice cream, bowling and dancing- especially her signature move, the Flying Dutchman. She also enjoyed playing the card games Sixty-six and Rummy.
Betty is survived by her husband, Melvin; their sons: Danny (Deborah), Donald (Tracy), and Russell (Wendy) Matulle; grandchildren: Mary, Melissa (Cort), Marsha (Josh), Michael, Matthew (Stephanie), Amanda (Tyler), Rebecca, Jonathon (Samantha), Jake, Max, and Sam (Marina); and 11 great-grandchildren; brother: David (Marlene) Hinz; sister: Bernice Clark; brother-in-law: Harvey Western; sisters-in-law: Anita Hinz and Marian Nimmer. Betty is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Arden (Jeannette), Edmund (Marie), and Reuben Hinz; sisters: Margie (Clarence) Hyde, Alice Western; brothers-in-law: Carroll “Jim” Clark and Duane "Doc" Nimmer.
A funeral service for Betty will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr., with Rev. James Reiff officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Burial will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Black Wolf.
