Betty Jane Michaels

Betty J. Michaels, age 93, passed away into the hands of her Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Waterford of Oshkosh with her daughter by her side. She was born in Menomonie, WI on September 4, 1922 a daughter to Ernest and Helen (Roen) Halverson. Betty was married to William Michaels on June 24, 1962 in Menomonie.Betty graduated from Menomonie High School a part of the class of 1941.She loved singing, playing cards, and above all spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She was also an avid Packer fan and reader.Betty is survived by her daughter: Marsha (nee. Hamilton) Johnson; grandsons: James (Kristen) and Jay (Jennifer) Johnson; five great grandchildren: Adam, Emily, Ian, Lily, and Sophie Johnson; sister: Doreen Thatcher; and three nieces: Jean Price, Janet Dean, and Nancy Beguhn.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: William Mike Michaels; sister: Mary Lou (James) Alseth; son in law: Richard Johnson; and brother in law Richard Thatcher.A service will be held in spring for Betty up in Menomonie.Per Bettys wishes any memorials may be made to Oshkosh Area Humane Society.The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Waterford and Andrea from Generations Hospice for the love and care they provided for Betty and being able to make it home for her.
