Betty Jo Riese, 89, passed away peacefully with her loving husband Bob at her side on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. Jo was born in Oshkosh on February 1st, 1934 to the late Grace and Wenzel Brouchek.
Jo attended St. Mary school until 9th grade and then graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1952. After high school she was a switchboard operator at Wisconsin Bell. Jo considered her biggest accomplishment being a stay at home Mom, and raising her six children. Jo enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jo later graduated from Fox Valley Technical College and upon graduation she became a Records Clerk at the Oshkosh Police Department until her retirement.
Jo married Robert Riese July 17th, 1992, the love of her life, after meeting at the Police Department. Bob brought her many years of joy traveling together, car rides to see the changing leaves, watching Nascar and Friday night fish frys at various restaurants with friends. Jo and Bob also spent numerous winters in Apache Junction, AZ enjoying the warm weather.
In her spare time, Jo loved knitting and sewing, and taught family members to knit. Jo sewed and knit many items for her kids in their younger years. Jo was very selfless, taking care of others before herself. She was a devout Christian and attended Mass regularly with her husband Bob.
Jo is survived by her husband Bob Riese, four daughters: Jill (Randy) Stini, Ann Riese, Lori (Rick) Halstead, Nancy (Shannon) Rahmlow and son Tom (Heide) Harron.
