Betty Ruth Harrmann

Betty Ruth Radtke Harrmann died on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Eden Meadows. She was the only child of Erna Mierswa and Edward Charles Radtke born November 28th, 1916.Betty married Dale Harrmann on May 1, 1944 and they were married for over 50 years. Betty and Dale traveled to all of the states, including Alaska and Hawaii. They also traveled to Europe and visited many of the northern countries there. Betty and Dale went on two cruises, as well. She met her best friend, Audrey Pomraning in kindergarten at Jefferson School. She graduated with a Masters degree from Oshkosh State College. Betty taught school at Read School in Oshkosh and prior to moving to Oshkosh, Betty taught at schools in Lena, Marinette and Beaver Dam. She was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years. In her spare time, Betty liked making crafts, reading, and completing word search puzzles. Betty is survived by her niece, Margaret (Todd) Duex and her children, Sarah Duex, Alex Duex and Jeff Duex, all of Spearfish, South Dakota; her niece, Marcia Konrad, and her children, Katherine Konrad, Robert Konrad, and Matthew Konrad, all of Oshkosh; niece, Jeanette Konrad, Oshkosh; and her sister-in-law, Alice Konrad, Oshkosh. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; an infant son who died at birth; two nephews, Steve and Greg Konrad; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Harrmann. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 5:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, with the Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Interment will be at Ellenwood Cemetery. Betty would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and aides who made her life more pleasant while she was living.
