Betty Young

Betty Young passed away on Oct. 16 at age 93 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. She was born Elizabeth Brown in Evanston, Ill on May 11, 1922 and was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Young. Betty and Vern moved to Oshkosh in 1947 from Illinois. She is survived by all five of her children, Jim (CO), Jill (OR), Jack (CA), Jeff (GA), and Jody (UT) and their spouses. She has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty was honored with the Clara Barton award for her twenty five years of volunteer service to the American Red Cross and was proud to be involved in several long term national health studies through the Womens Health Initiative. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.There will be an informal open house at The Waters in Oshkosh, from 4:00pm 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 21. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, cards, or donations, please spend quality time with those you love.
