Beverly Jean Decker

April 9, 1930 — April 29, 2018

Beverly J. Decker was ushered home by angels on April 29, 2018.
Bev was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on April 9, 1930, daughter of Wilbur & Rose Coombs. Bev was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1948. She also attended Oshkosh Business College.

Early in her life she worked at Oshkosh B’Gosh. On May 24, 1952, Bev married James Decker; they had 57 years together. Raising their three children was her joy. Bev enjoyed working with “Welcome Wagon”, selling “Swipe” and “Holiday Magic”. She also worked at ALS Printing as a sales representative.

Bev loved the Lord and lived for Him faithfully. She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where she served as a Deaconess for over 20 years. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, and worked with Girls for Christ. Bev also led a women’s neighborhood Bible Study on Tuesday afternoons for 50 years. She last regularly attended Countryside Church, where her son had served as Pastor. Bev was an avid reader and loved to cook. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the wonderful times at their cottage near Wautoma. Bev was also an animal lover. At age 80 she bought a puppy (her beloved Bella). But most important to Bev was the love and encouragement she showed the family she held so dear. She was deeply loved, cherished and respected by so many. Bev leaves behind a rich heritage of love and faith.

Bev is survived by her sons, Greg (Nancy), Scott (Ann), and daughter, Sherry (Sam) TenBrink; her eight grandchildren: Josh (Vanessa), Kelly, Brennan (Emily), Abby (Keegan), Tyler (Lisa), Ashley, Landon, Carson (Lynn); and six great-grandchildren: Sophia, Mateo, Josephina, Aubrey, Savannah, and Lucy. She is also survived by her sisters: Sally (Wayne) Wesner and Linda Wiese; a sister-in-law, Nancy Coombs, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Lorraine Coombs, her brother Howard Coombs, a nephew Jeffrey Wesner and a niece Kim Kucksdorf.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Lorraine with Theda Care Hospice, to Stacy the manager at Garden Gate, Evergreen Manor along with the support staff, as well as to all who visited.

A private gathering of family was held to honor and celebrate Bev’s life and homegoing. Memorial gifts can be made out to “Beverly Decker Memorial Fund” and mailed to Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes, PO Box 78, Oshkosh, WI 54903.
