Brandon Joseph Backus

Brandon J. Backus, 25, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly, following a motorcycle accident, on Saturday September 20, 2008 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1983 in Neenah a son of Jerry Backus and Debbie Ward Backus. Brandon was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He graduated from Fox Valley Technical College and was a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic working for Myers Aviation. Brandon was an avid hunter, firearms enthusiast, and golfer. He loved the outdoors especially time in the woods near Pardeeville. His survivors include his mother Debbie (Kerney) Cannon of Lakeland, LA, father Jerry (Linda) Backus of Oshkosh, two brothers Ryan (Jennifer) Backus of Oshkosh and Shawn Backus of Oshkosh, grandmother June Backus of Oshkosh, step-sisters, step-brothers, special uncle and friend Mark Backus, longtime friend Courtney Wagner, aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends, and his new puppy Deak. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother Bennett and Genevieve Ward, his grandfather Henry Backus, and great-grandmother Elsie Esslinger. A memorial service for Brandon will be held Tuesday September 23, 2008 at 6:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-westside. Visitation will be at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home on Tuesday from 3 PM until the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Brandons memory. Brandons family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Theda Clark for all their help and support.
