Brian P. Spanbauer “Spano”, age 52, of Oshkosh passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was born in Oshkosh to the late Richard and Dolores (Seidl) Spanbauer on July 30, 1965. Brian attended Elementary and Middle School at St. Peter’s School. He was a graduate of Lourdes Academy, class of 1983. Brian began his working career at Propson’s Pharmacy and moved on to becoming a long time employee at Ten Pin Tap in Oshkosh. He finished his career with over 20 years at the U.S. Post Office and was heavily involved in union activities; serving as Steward and Vice President for Local 178. Brian was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and his free spirit took him on many spur of the moment road trips. Brian had many collections and particularly enjoyed his sports card collections. Brian’s wit and practical jokes brought laughter to those around him.
Brian is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Lonni) Spanbauer and Steven (Kay Beulen) Spanbauer; sisters, Patricia (Terry) Wesner and Susan Spanbauer; aunts and uncles: John G. Spanbauer, David and Lois Seidl, and Barb Spanbauer; nieces and nephews: Lisa (Rick Nemecek) Spanbauer, Maggie (Matt Earle) Fenn of San Diego, Payton Spanbauer, Reid Spanbauer, Jared (Kristin Orlowski) Spanbauer of Madison, and great-nephew, Joshua Nemecek. Extended family Laura Tod and Bill Kienast, and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents; his brother, Gerald Spanbauer; niece, Rachel Spanbauer; aunts and uncles: James Spanbauer, Fern Spanbauer, and Dennis and Margie Seidl.
A casual time of gathering will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. A Private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
