Bruce Alex Stang

Bruce A. Stang, age 70, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison with his family by his side. He was born on June 23, 1944 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Alex and Helen (Crowner) Stang. Bruce married Debra Bauman on October 2, 1982 at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.Bruce graduated from Oshkosh High School and went on to serve his country in the US Army. After serving his time Bruce worked for over 30 years, and later retired from Oshkosh Truck. He was also a car hobbyist. He enjoyed old cars, making his hotrods, and watching dirt track racing.Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Debra; daughter, Dani Scooter (Nathan) Potratz; their children Emma and Lucy Potratz; his other daughter, Lisa Busby; his sister, Barb Langkau; Dennis and Pat (Pagel) Bauman, his father and mother in law; and brother in law Tim Deacy.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie (Stang) and brother in law Dick Peerenboom; and sister in law Denise Deacy. A funeral service will be held for Bruce at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel with full military honors to follow. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until the time of service.Bruces family would like to send a special thank you to the staff in the ICU unit at UW Hospital in Madison for the love and compassion they provided for him.
