Bruce W. Jovaag, 66, Oshkosh, passed away suddenly with his wife by his side Tuesday, October 9, 2018. He was born July 19, 1952, in Oshkosh, the son of Myron and Jean (Zentner) Jovaag. As a teenager Bruce took a liking to music and taught himself how to play the bass guitar. He loved playing all types of music and could pick up the notes just from hearing it. On July 4, 1974 Bruce met the love of his life, Christine Mueller at The Red Lantern. Thus began their 10 year courtship until they were married on July 21, 1984.
Bruce was employed by the EAA for 15 years doing what he loved, restoring airplanes. Anything that got old and needed repair and livening up Bruce gave attention to, but was mostly interested in automobiles and motorcycles. Bruce had an amazing sense of humor in all circumstances, and was known as a ‘ham and ½’ to his in-laws! He also had a love for animals, especially his two cats Luna and Lola, who will surely miss his presence.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Chris; mother, Jean; a sister, Sue Reinke; sisters-in-law, Karen (Ted) Bowen and Liz Klem; nieces and nephews: Kristin (Bob) Plummer-Baumgartner, Marny Martin-Schroepfer, Ed (Kari) Bowen, Ann (Mike) Bowen Potratz, Amelia (DannO) Osterud, Dylan (Michelle) Mueller, Beth Leschke and Jennifer Mueller; 11 great nieces and nephews and one great great niece; further survived by many cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers-in-law: Donaven Reinke and Jim Mueller; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Mueller; grandparents: Earl and Erna Zentner, Myron Jovaag and Myrtle Peterson; an uncle, Mark (Myra) Daniels; a very special friend, Dave Moldenhauer.
