Carl Janssen, 82, died peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Aspire Senior Living in Oshkosh, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 17, 1939, in Mattoon, WI a son of the late William and Mary Fisher-Janssen. On February 6, 1960, he married the only love of his life, Sandra Markgraf. Together they had three children. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2019.
Carl spent his 35-year career at Skotzke Construction as a Foreman as well as driving truck. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting old tools, especially hammers. He and Sandy were longtime members of St. Gabriel’s Church in Neenah.
Survivors include his two sons, Chad (Cori), Chip and his daughter, Cara (Richard) Close; sisters, Dorothy, Marlene, Bonnie; grandchildren: David, Daniel, Joseph, Craig, Kasie, Garrett, Cole and numerous other relatives and friends. Carl was also preceded in death by his sisters, Pat and Joan, and by his brother, Bob.
Carl's wishes were that a service not be held. He only requested that those he loved remember him fondly. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah if they would like to.
His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the outstanding caretakers at Aspire as well as the staff at Aurora Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Carl.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Carl.
