Carl W. Decker

Carl W. Decker, age 74 of Oshkosh, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on November 5, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1948 to the late Edward and Margaret (Cherpes) Decker. On August 31, 1968, Carl married Kathie Fetterly and they had four children. He later married Joanne Jensen on February 28, 1998, and the two shared nearly 25 years marriage.

Carl was a proud graduate of Michigan Technological University. To the community of Green Bay Carl was a smiling face at Associated Bank for many years. He later worked at M&I and eventually retired from FIS. Carl was a family man who adored his children and grandchildren. He had his special, endearing nicknames for his kids. Grandpa rarely turned down the opportunity to attend as many of their sporting and school events as possible throughout the years! He and his wife, Joanne always looked forward to their Door County get-aways or camping at Pelican Lake. Carl was best known as the man with the gift of gab, or one to lend a hand when needed. His guilty pleasure was watching The Hallmark Channel, but he also enjoyed golf and hockey. Carl enjoyed spending time with his pets, Max and Finn.

Carl is lovingly survived by his wife, Joanne; children: Tracy Cubito (John Walt), Keri (Brian) Bartolazzi, Holly Decker (Josh Kamin), Scott Decker, David (Rebecah) Carini, and Kevin (Leah) Carini; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with two on the way; brothers: Eddie, Todd, Ralph (Donna), and Kevin Decker.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Margaret Decker, son-in-law, John Cubito.

A funeral service for Carl will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Lake View Memorial Park chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. with Rev. Connie Weiss officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be established for the American Heart Association, the American Liver Foundation, and the American Cancer Association.

The Decker family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Dr. Ammar Alzoubi for the professional, yet compassionate care provided throughout the years to Carl. Thank you to the staff and caretakers of Aurora Medical Center-3rd floor, and Jon at Edenbrook of Oshkosh for making the most difficult moments, a little more comfortable.
