Carol Patience, 71, Oshkosh, passed away suddenly Friday, July 21, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born January 25, 1946, in Illinois, to Paul and LaVerne (Trostel) Cartwright.
Carol spent her childhood in Illinois, which is where she met and married Randall Patience on May 1, 1965. Their marriage was blessed by two children and more than 20 years together. In 1995 Carol moved to Oshkosh to be closer to her siblings and mother, and had cared for her mom ever since. She was employed by Television Lab in Wauconda, IL, prior to moving back to Wisconsin, and later worked for Stannard Cleaners until her retirement. Carol enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and trips to the casino, and was an avid fan of the local band Sweet Water. She was a very compassionate, loving, and welcoming woman who loved all she met and quickly made them feel like family!
Carol will be missed by her children: Sandy (Rory) Zuerlein, Kenosha, and Randy (Jerri) Patience, Wauconda, IL; grandchildren: Samantha (Ryan) Donahue, Alex and Nick Kuti, and Will Patience; a great granddaughter, Peyton Donahue; her mother, LaVerne; brothers and sisters: William aka Wimpy (LaDonna Devine) Cartwright, Peggy (Jack) DeWall, Anita (Barry) Davidson, Walter (Sandy) Cartwright, Dawn Cartwright, and Don (Kelly) Cartwright; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Nick Davidson.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at South Park in Oshkosh.
Carol’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Bob Weber and nurses of Mercy Medical Center-ICU, especially Jenny and Katie, for their loving care and compassion.
