Carol Jean Otto

Carol J. Otto, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 14, 1940 to Elmer and Nora (Strehlow) Kolodzik in Winneconne. Carol was married to David William Otto on June 23, 1962 in Winneconne.Carol graduated from Winneconne High School and was the secretary of her class. She worked at Buckstaff before her marriage to David. She was a 4-H ambassador who went to Louisiana. Carol worked seasonally at Miles Kimball when their children were young and after the kids started school she went on to work as a production scheduler at SNC Manufacturing. Carol was known by all who knew her by her cooking. She loved to cook for family holidays and other celebrations. She always made sure the deer hunters had plenty of food. Carol passed the love of cooking and recipes on to her children.She had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed a chance to give a fast one liner. Carol loved animals and had adopted animals through area shelters, but her all time passion was for cats. She had always found happiness and entertainment in the family pets and had a room of cat memorabilia and enjoyed her collectibles.Carol is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: David Otto; three children: Kay Wilcox, Kurt Otto, and Kraig (Norma) Otto; grandchildren: Mercedes and Mitchell Wilcox, Taylor and Kenzie Otto, and Dan Slater. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; brothers: Lyle and Harlan; and sister: Verna Sikes.A funeral service for Carol will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church (1100 E. Murdock Ave.) with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to Oshkosh Humane Society in Carols name.The family would like to thank Dr. Gremminger for helping out so much. Sandra Zernzach and Cheryl Hebeck for their care and support and to Heartland hospice for their kind works and assistance they gave to Carol.
