Catherine Gertrude Wahlgren

Catherine G. Wahlgren, age 89 of Oshkosh died at her home on Wednesday October 19, 2011. She was born in Oshkosh on December 25, 1921, a daughter of the late Anton and Katherine Spanbauer Yanko. She married Harry Wahlgren on September 6, 1943 in Oshkosh and spent 68 wonderful years together.Catherine was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Church. She had been employed with Race Office Supply. Catherine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Legion on the Lake Dance Club, enjoyed quilting and was a seamstress. Survivors include her husband, Harry Wahlgren of Oshkosh; two daughters, Kay L. (Charles) Knauer of English Lake,WI; Karen S. (Peter) Gumz of Mt. Morris; one sister, Helen Lautenschlager of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Brian (Sandy) Knauer, Vicki (Tim)McMullen, Eric Gumz, and Byron (Kristin) Gumz; seven great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Gladys Harrison, of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters.A celebration of Catherines life will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Bella Vista (631 Hazel St.) with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Family and friends may call at Bella Vista on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to Aseracare Hospice 1294 Lombardi Ave. Green Bay, WI. Special thanks to the staff at Bella Vista CBRF and Aseracare Hospice for their care and compassion.
