Catherine Marie Schaefer

Catherine M. Schaefer 74, of Oshkosh died Saturday June 16, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born February 20, 1933 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late Edward and Marie Duescher Schroeder. Catherine married Chuck Schaefer on January 6, 1973 in Oshkosh. Catherine was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and was in the church choir for 30 years. She had worked at Mikes Airport Grill, Hessers Supper Club, and Georges Gaslight. Catherine loved golfing and bowling. Catherine was on the Oshkosh Centennial Court in 1953. She is survived by her husband Chuck of Oshkosh; two sons Gary (Chris) Schaefer and Joe (Teri) Schaefer both of Oshkosh; four sisters Arline (Ralph) Hoeft and Grace (Carl) Strum both of Oshkosh, Shirley (Gordon) Roeder of Waupun, and Joyce (William) Krepline of Hilbert; five brothers Clarence Schroeder, David (Dorothy) Schroeder, Richard Schroeder, Robert (Colleen) Schroeder, and John (Bonnie) Schroeder all of Oshkosh; four grandchildren Kelly (Christopher) Knudsen, Julie (Nathan) Haen, Emily Schaefer (fianc Craig Lehman), and Andrea Schaefer; two great-grandchildren Lydia and Aiden Knudsen; two brothers-in-law Oscar Leichtfuss and Kenneth Stadler; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters Betty Leichtfuss, her twin Dolores Reckelberg, and Alvina Stadler; an infant brother Jerry Schroeder; and a sister-in-law Dorothy Schroeder. Funeral services for Catherine will be held Tuesday June 19, 2007 at 12:00 PM (noon) at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church , Rev. Gregg Schoeneck officiating. Family and friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10 AM until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church.
