Charles A. Smith

Charles A. Smith Jr., 53 of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday March 23, 2008. He was born in Rockford, IL on May 16, 1954 a son of Charles A. and Joan Long Smith. On July 22, 1978 he married Elizabeth Johnson in Belvedere, IL.Charles was employed by Alro Steel in Oshkosh. He had served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved sports of all kinds and fished when he could. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Smith of Oshkosh; his daughters, Jamie Smith of Detroit, MI, and Lindsay (David) McMurry of Mansfield, OH; his mother, Joan Hurd, of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren, Isabella, Jazmine, David Jr., and Adam McMurry, and Tatianna Howard, and two step grandchildren, Ashley and Katelynn McMurry; three brothers, Steven, Dock, and Pat; and three sisters, Mary, Julie, and Jill. He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Pamela.Charles memorial service will be Friday March 28, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside with the Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from Noon until the time of the service. Memorials for the family will be appreciated.
