Charles Braemer Schultz, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at home with family by his side. He was born on June 23, 1933, to the late Herbert and Loretta Schultz in Oshkosh. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and went to Oshkosh High School and graduated in June 1951. On June 26, 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Ann Anderson who preceded him in death on February 1, 2006. He graduated from Concordia College in Milwaukee in June 1954. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he played in the University marching band. After leaving the University, he joined his father and brother as a partner in Badger Electric Supply Corp. of Oshkosh where he worked until his retirement in 1996. He was state president for one year for the National Association of Credit Management, Wisconsin. As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Oshkosh, he sang in the choir and was on several boards. He was active in the Camp Fire Girls program as a board member and camp chairman for Camp Hiwela for three years. He was involved in the Oshkosh Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps as head chaperone and president of the organization. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing golf, and bridge. He also enjoyed many good times with his family and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was blessed with four children, one son and three daughters: Devron M. Lee and husband Larry of Oshkosh, WI, Paul B. Schultz and wife Sherry of Grafton, WI, Carrie L. Tyriver and husband Douglas of Oshkosh, WI, and Holly C. Walker and husband Scott of Swansboro, NC; twelve grandchildren: Amanda (Lee) Loberger and husband Cory, Michael Lee and wife Christina, Bryan Schultz and wife Christine, Adam Schultz, Breanne (Schultz) Hawkins and husband Tom, Reed Tyriver and wife Kelly, Whitney (Tyriver) Stenbroten and husband Craig, Ross Tyriver and wife Jessica, McKayla Walker and fiancé Bryan Cooley Jr., and Charles Walker; thirteen great grandchildren: Madelyn, Noah, Rory, Carson, Vivienne, Scarlett, Edison, Aurora, Teagan, Robbie, Adalynn, Everlie, Jack; and AFS student, Janine Haltiner and family. He was further preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Walker and brother, Allen Schultz.
A funeral service for Charles will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 370 Bowen Street, Oshkosh. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
