Charlotte Ruth Montag

Charlotte R. Cookie Montag, age 83, was taken into the hands of her Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Fond du Lac Lutheran homes. She was born on January 3, 1933 to Rudolph and Mary (Goheen) Montag.Charlotte became a nun entering into the convent on December 8, 1950. During her time there, she graduated from the school of vocational and adult education. She served 22 years there, but gave up her duties as a nun on December 15, 1972 to take care of a dear friend Fr. Francis Mulhull. Charlotte subsequently studied for and became a nurse serving as a LPN for many years at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. After retiring from St. Vincent Hospital, Charlotte worked part time job as a greeter at Wal-Mart for 10 years.She is survived by many nieces and nephews.Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Dolores (Donald) Zielke, Geneva Eyers, and Rosemary (Edgar) Newell; and brothers: Bernard, Donald, and Robert Montag.A memorial service for Charlotte will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside, Oshkosh) with Fr. William Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association in Charlottes name.The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Fond du Lac Lutheran Homes and to the nurses of Heartland Hospice, especially Ann and Alex for all the love and care they provided to Charlotte over the last ten years.
